Inspiration for creating similar schools throughout Poland

This is why
WE ESTABLISHED THE STERNIK ASSOCIATION OVER 20 YEARS AGO

The STERNIK project began in 2003. A group of parents decided to set up a coeducational preschool as well as The STRUMIENIE school for girls and The ŻAGLE school for boys. To this end, they established The Association for the Support of Education and Family STERNIK. Eastern suburbs of Warsaw were selected as location for the schools.

SUPPORTING EDUCATION AND FAMILY

Our mission is shaping mature women and men, who – in adult life – as mothers, fathers, scientists, doctors, economists, architects, lawyers, managers will be good employees and honest citizens. In short, they will be decent people. In several years it is them who will be making decisions and looking after the future of both Poland and Europe. Currently over 1400 children attend the STERNIK Association's schools, and the community of families is constantly growing.

THE ADVANTAGES OF SINGLE-SEX EDUCATION

The nursery and preschool are designed for girls and boys together.
The STERNIK schools at the primary and secondary level are single-sex.

Such a division facilitates:

  • respect for the natural differences, which encourages regard for the opposite sex;
  • better communication, and thus more effective educational influence;
  • maintaining the same educational and didactic objectives in schools for girls and boys, while differentiating methods of knowledge transfer and character building;
  • developing gender-specific traits and achieving female and male maturity with a lower risk of their disruption, especially during adolescence; as a result, girls and boys are better prepared for relationships with the opposite sex in adult life;
  • breaking of unfair social stereotypes about professions suitable for women and men (e.g. significantly more female graduates of single-sex schools choose STEM fields, while male graduates of such schools are more likely than their peers to choose humanities).

IN ORDER TO ACCOMPLISH THAT
MISSION, OUR SCHOOLS MUST HAVE A PRIVATE STATUS

The operating costs of the STERNIK Association schools consist of:

The Association's sources of income:

Income from subsidies and tuition fees covers the current preschool and schools operating cost.
